In this game, the player controls a small device moving around the edge of a rectangular field. The objective is to cut off sections of the field by moving the device across it. Once a certain percentage of the field is claimed, the player advances to the next level. Xonix is a clone of Qix with slightly altered gameplay elements. Several balloons are flying in the middle of the screen, an enemy is running along the edges of the screen. Your task is to cut from the free space until you fill (color) enough of the screen to advance to the next level. During this, you must not be caught by an enemy, and no balloon can hit you or your drawn line. The graphics in Xonix are minimalistic, typical of mid-80s DOS games, with simple lines and shapes. But what it lacks in visual complexity, it makes up for in gameplay. The straightforward design allows players to focus on the increasingly challenging task at hand. Xonix is a game that tests reflexes, timing, and strategic planning. Its addictive nature lies in the "just one more try" feeling it gives, making it a timeless classic in the world of computer games. For those who enjoy a straightforward, yet challenging puzzle game, Xonix is a perfect choice.
