World Tour Golf was one of the early attempts to bring the precision and strategy of golf to home computers. Unlike modern golf games with their high-end graphics and lifelike physics, World Tour Golf was much simpler, but it still managed to capture some of the essence of the sport. The game featured various courses, each presenting its own set of challenges. Players needed to choose the right club, adjust their aim, and control their swing power – just like in real golf. The graphics were pretty basic, with simple representations of courses and golfers, but they did the job. You could see the layout of the hole, where the hazards were, and get a general sense of the green. The controls were straightforward, which made the game easy to pick up and play, but getting good at it was another story. Hitting that perfect shot required practice and a bit of strategy, mimicking the real-life skills needed in golf. However, the game’s physics and ball movement weren't always realistic, which could be a bit frustrating if you were expecting a true-to-life golf experience. World Tour Golf didn't have the bells and whistles of modern sports games, but it offered a fun and basic golfing experience.
