Experts on World War II, who are also computer game enthusiasts, certainly know of the game Panzer General. Upon mentioning this game, they express nothing but praise. Panzer General has spawned several sequels, both direct and indirect, which are part of the 5-Star General series. The latest game in this series, Pacific General, transports players to the battlefields of the Pacific, offering a closer look at the war conflict in Asia. The game builds on the successful elements of its predecessors, tasking players with commanding divisions of infantry, artillery, tanks, air forces, and naval forces. The objective is to strategically combine these different unit types to defeat the enemy and capture or defend strategic locations within a set number of rounds. The unique characteristics of the units, such as artillery's ability to cover neighboring units and the air force's protection against air attacks, remain unchanged. Additionally, new features have been introduced, such as the Japanese infantry's Banzai—suicide attack, or fearless mode, which ensures a unit never retreats. Players have the option to embark on a campaign as either the Americans or the Japanese, play individual predefined scenarios, or explore a new feature: the editor for individual scenarios. As one of the most successful entries in the 5-Star General series, this game is definitely not to be missed.
