In this game, players control a single character on a two-dimensional court, facing off against either a computer opponent or a second player. Simple and very playable, that's how Arcade Volleyball could be roughly described. One screen, two cupping heads, one ball and all in four colors. The principle is simple - you control your character using the mouse or keyboard arrows and unpin the balloon to the opponent's side. The score is calculated according to the old volleyball rules, so it is played up to fifteen with losses.

The game is a follow-up to a similar game by the same developers, Basketball Sam & Ed, which was released a year earlier. It is possible to play against the computer or in two on one machine. Depending on the angle at which you nudge the ball, it is possible to make long serves, fire wild balls that sneakily bounce off the walls, or skillfully slam.

In the first version of the game, on the Commodore 64, 2 teams of two (yellow and green heads vs. pink and red heads) face each other. Both heads are controlled together, i.e. they jump and move synchronously. In 1989, the Amiga version was released, in which only 2 heads, green and red, are facing each other. In this version, to win, it is necessary to reach 15 points and at the same time have at least 2 points more than the opponent. The DOS version of the game is based on the Amiga, but has worse graphics (the heads are purple-green) and contains sounds spread through the PC Speaker. In 2013, the game was also made available for Android, where the player can choose between the Amiga and the PC version of the game.
